The Indianapolis Department of Public Works will close Fall Creek Road between 71st and 79th Streets on Thursday, September 12, to begin replacement of the Fall Creek culvert near 9540 Fall Creek Rd.
As discussed in detail at April's SRA Annual Meeting, the DPW is trying to address some of the drainage problems that continue to plague several areas along Sargent Road. It seems that Director Dan Parker took our requests for help to heart, and in addition to the work already underway at 75th and Sargent, they took some time to make drainage improvements just North of Lantern Road recently.
The Indy Public Safety Foundation is excited to announce that applications are now being accepted for the 11th class of the Public Safety Citizens Academy (PSCA)! The PSCA is a free, 12-week course designed to provide a behind the scenes look at the work our city’s first responders do each day to keep Indianapolis safe.
The Indiana Historical Society has launched its Indianapolis History Collecting Initiative, supported by a $100,000 grant from the Lilly Endowment. The initiative is part of the IHS's Indianapolis Bicentennial Project which hopes to identify resources about the people, places and events that have shaped the city over the past 200 years.
As part of an effort to gather the many voices that have a stake in Castleton’s revitalization, the City held a series of input sessions for the public on June 18th and 20th. The sessions included a brief presentation about the project and its early findings, as well as informal workshop-style stations where people were encouraged to share ideas about the many different topics associated with the project.
